Elvis Star Lisa Marie Presley: ‘my First Smile In Two Years’ ‘i Talked To My Dad’

LISA MARIE PRESLEY had an emotional interview with Elvis movie star Austin Butler in Graceland’s Jungle Room. Elvis Presley’s daughter says the actor “honoured my father in every way possible” and that she feels “so protective of him.” The Elvis film will be released in theaters next week, and the film’s world press tour is still ongoing.

The cast and director Baz Luhrmann flew into Memphis, Tennessee earlier this week for a premiere at Elvis Presley’s Graceland. On the red carpet, Austin Butler and Tom Hanks were joined by three generations of The King’s family: his ex-wife Priscilla Presley, daughter Lisa Marie Presley, and her three daughters.

Unfortunately, Lisa Marie’s only son Benjamin Keough was not present after his death in 2020 at the age of 27. Elvis’ only grandson, who resembled the music legend, is buried alongside him in Graceland’s Meditation Garden. His mother, who made a rare public appearance to attend the Elvis film premiere, has had a difficult couple of years. The King’s daughter stated that she enjoyed the film and that Butler was the first actor to portray her father on screen.

“I had such an emotional and incredible trip to Memphis, meeting and spending time with all of the cast of Elvis,” Lisa wrote in a post. I adore and admire each and every one of them [four blue heart emojis]. Thank you very much to @austinbutler and @bazluhrmann. @elvismovie @visitgraceland @wbpictures, Tom Hanks

Lisa Marie took part in a special documentary during the Elvis movie cast’s visit to Graceland, giving her first interview in a long time.

Photos of her sitting on a sofa in the Jungle Room with Butler have been released ahead of the ABC News special Exclusively Elvis, which airs Tuesday at 10/9c. She wrote on Instagram after sharing photos of a touching moment with the Elvis actor, “I do believe that this may be my first smile in 2 years.”
