How his daughter’s generation will “produce the next revolution,” according to Dave Grohl

“After three or four years, you’ll be able to observe the progression of this mutation”

According to Dave Grohl, his daughter Violet and her generation will “produce the next revolution,” in his words.

In the past, Violet Grohl, 16, and her father have performed together on stage together, most notably during the headline performance by the Foo Fighters at Leeds Festival in 2019. She contributed backing vocals to the band’s most recent album, “Medicine At Midnight,” which was released last year.

Dave praised Violet as “an extraordinarily excellent musician” in January 2021, saying that she could “take up an instrument and learn it within a week.” “To be her drummer is one of my life ambitions,” he continued.

Around that time, Dave mentioned that Violet was thinking about doing a shoegaze record and that he wanted to play on it.

Dave described how musicians and fans Violet’s age are currently paving the way in a new interview with MSNBC, which was conducted prior to the loss of Foos drummer Taylor Hawkins.

“What I see is this mutation, change, growth, and evolution that her generation is now the rock stars,” he remarked. “It’s not old people like myself.” Kanye [West] is not one of them.

That generation, they say. Give it five, ten, three, or four years, and you’ll be able to observe the progression of this mutation.

“When we walk out on stage, the thing I enjoy about playing our large gigs is that I can join everyone in a huge chorus, whether it’s a song like ‘My Hero,’ or ‘Best of You,’ ‘Everlong,’ ‘Learn to Fly,’ whatever it is,” Dave explained.

There aren’t many things in life that can unite 100,000 people like that, but when we play those songs, everyone will sing along. When you play a song that everyone sings along to, it’s a massive energy and it’s amazing. It doesn’t matter what their backgrounds, politics, or religion are.

So I don’t feel like it’s our role as a band to start some kind of revolution, he continued. It serves to bring everyone together during those times. The next revolution must be started, and I believe my daughter will.

In 2019, Dave Grohl stated that it was his daughters who first introduced him to Billie Eilish. At the time, he stated, “And what I’m seeing with my girls is the same revolution that happened to me at their age.

“Through Billie Eilish’s music, my daughters are discovering their own identities. She has a strong connection to them.

Violet Grohl has not yet revealed any information about her debut album. But the previous year, she collaborated with her father to record a cover of LA punk legends X’s “Nausea.” At Lollapalooza 2021, she later sang the song alongside the Foo Fighters.

The father and daughter combo covered Amy Winehouse’s “Take The Box” in December 2021.

Shane Hawkins, Taylor Hawkins’ son, has been seen in recent videos paying tribute to his late father by playing the drums on the song “My Hero.”

This September, the Foo Fighters will host the two-night “Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert” in London (September 3) and Los Angeles (September 4). (27).

When Dave Grohl joined Paul McCartney on stage at Glastonbury 2022 last month, it was his first time performing in front of an audience since Hawkins’ passing.
