Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx tweeted that social media fans are their top music critics thanks to social media’s power. The bassist also stated that they don’t sell clickbait to gain attraction from The Stadium Tour.
Because of their notorious lifestyle, Mötley Crüe members have had a rocky relationship with the traditional press throughout their music career. Even at their peak, the media criticized them for their partying and drinking habits. Nevertheless, the press is more concerned with their music and performances now that their lives aren’t that wild regarding substance abuse.
Hence, there was numerous news regarding the Stadium Tour, and Nikki Sixx was generally upset about the clickbait information, as he felt it discredited the band. Sixx also acknowledged that the press tried to capitalize on them by demanding free passes for the shows but still wrote terrible reviews.
After the group received great reviews from fans on social media, Sixx tweeted to express his gratitude to their fans for not using their platform to make people believe a false rumor. He also stated that Mötley Crüe members always laughed at the criticism, knowing it wasn’t true.
Nikki Sixx’s tweet about the clickbait-free critics is as follows:
“I think we can all agree that critics have always been a joke, but now with social media, the fans give the best review and aren’t trying to sell clickbait (advertising) for the company they are on salary from. Crueheads are best. F*ck the rest. What a great tour.”
“For years, we would sit around and read the reviews out loud and piss our pants laughing.”
